Dog Training in Madison, MS

A big share of our clients live in Madison and just up the road in Canton, so Bailey drives there regularly for in-home lessons and evaluations. Many families here choose board and train, with weekly progress videos while their dog stays in Bailey's home near Brandon.

Training for Madison families

Madison is one of the places we drive to most, because so many of our clients live there. A lot of Madison families pick board and train, and the most common worry is simple: is my dog going to be okay while they're gone? That is why every board and train dog gets weekly progress videos, and why Bailey answers the check-in texts.

Real-world training

Where We Train in Madison

Liberty Park

About 70 acres with a two-mile loop trail that welcomes leashed dogs. The length and mix of open field and tree line make it good for building distance and focus.

Madison's off-leash dog park

A fenced city dog park. Useful for recall work once a dog is ready, though busy dog parks aren't a starting point for reactive dogs.

Petco on Grandview Boulevard

Leashed dogs are welcome inside, near the Colony Park shopping area, for calm-behavior practice around other dogs and shoppers.

Canton Square

For Canton families, the historic square brings sidewalk foot traffic, the courthouse lawn, and festival crowds in the fall, a different kind of public exposure than Madison's shopping centers.

Madison Dogs We've Worked With

Teddy: board and train with constant check-ins

His owner was nervous about sending him away, so weekly progress videos and quick answers to her texts were part of the program. Teddy came home with good manners and a solid foundation, and his family learned how to keep it going.

Iyri: potty training solved through obedience

Her owner first called about potty training. Bailey recommended working on obedience as well, and a week after coming home Iyri's behavior had changed and the accidents in the house had stopped.

Archie: an 11-month-old goldendoodle

After a four-week board and train, his owner joked at the follow-up session that Bailey had brought back a different dog.

A standard poodle puppy with a long list

At eight months old she pulled on the leash, ignored recall, counter surfed, jumped on guests, and had no impulse control. After training, her family calls her a different dog and so enjoyable to be around.

What Madison Families Say

“Bailey at Clark’s K9 is wonderful! When you’re trying to decide whether to send your dog away for board and train, it can be scary. After all, that’s our baby we’re trusting with someone else for an extended period of time! But Bailey was amazing from start to finish. I loved the weekly progress videos and updates. He never seemed to mind my constant texts checking in on little Teddy, and I always felt like Teddy was being well cared for and loved. The best part? Teddy came home with fantastic manners and a solid foundation of training. Bailey also took the time to teach us the tools we need to continue reinforcing everything Teddy learned. If you’re looking for someone you can trust with your dog, I highly recommend Bailey at Clark’s K9 for all your training needs! Teddy even approves :))”

“I called to see about potty training and Bailey Clark was very attentive over our 10 minute phone conversation and gave great advice! We set up and a day for him to come and discuss and I knew right away I wanted dog training! Even though my main issue was potty training, I thought if Iyri could do better with obedience it would help with the potty training! Iyri has been home now over a week and I am so happy with the service he provided! Iyri’s behavior is absolutely amazing and she is not having accidents in the house! I would tell her no several times before to stop doing something and now I no longer have those issues! Everything Bailey said he would do he did and more! I would recommend Clark’s training services 100 thousand times!”

“Bailey trained my Golden Doodle Archie (11 months old) using his full board and training for a 4 week period and brought me back the most obedient amazing dog I’ve ever owned. I can’t say enough about how incredible his training services have been. When he came back for our follow-up session, I kept teasing him about giving me back a different dog. Clark’s K9 Training was worth every penny and has provided us with a fabulous obedient lovable dog that we can now enjoy without the stresses of the crazy puppy that we once had.”

“We came to Bailey with a list of behaviors we wanted to train into (and out of) our 8-month-old standard poodle puppy, and he did not disappoint. Before working with Bailey, our dog was pulling on the leash, not coming when called, counter surfing, jumping on guests, and lacking impulse control. After training with Bailey, we’ve seen such a huge difference. Our dog is truly a different dog than when we started and is now so enjoyable to be around! Bailey is knowledgeable, patient, and great to work with. We are so grateful for his help and would recommend him to anyone. Hire him for all your dog training needs — you’ll be so glad you did!”

“Bailey was great at turning my new Golden Doodle puppy from a crazy monster dog into a very manageable sweetheart of a dog. He now listens and comes when I call him and is so much better behaved than before we started training him. Bailey really understands how dogs behave and thus knows what they respond to and uses positive reinforcement techniques in his training sessions.I highly recommend Bailey if you have a dog that needs any behavioral training.”
